Tourmaline from Pederniera Mine, Minas Gerais, Brazil [db_pics/pics/t605a.jpg] Tourmaline from Pederniera Mine, Minas Gerais, Brazil [db_pics/pics/t605b.jpg]

Single glassy Tourmaline crystal with top top color!! The core is a well saturated raspberry color, followed by a more transparent greenish color, and finally capped by a thin bright blue zone (what color!!!). The termination face has mirror luster. Weighs 18.6 grams.

T607 - Dioptase in Quartz $ 1500
Kaokaveld, Namibia
miniature - 4.7 x 3.0 x 3 cm

Dioptase in Quartz from Kaokaveld, Namibia [db_pics/pics/t607a.jpg] Dioptase in Quartz from Kaokaveld, Namibia [db_pics/pics/t607b.jpg] Dioptase in Quartz from Kaokaveld, Namibia [db_pics/pics/t607c.jpg] Dioptase in Quartz from Kaokaveld, Namibia [db_pics/pics/t607d.jpg]

Rare specimen of Dioptase crystals included in Quartz. These are not often seen and it's the only one I've ever owned. There were a handful of specimens from the Congo with slightly bigger Quartz crystals and included Dioptase crystals that sold in the $25K-$35K range. In this specimen, the Dioptase crystals settled on an earlier generation of yellow colored Quartz (which I understand is caused by Sulfur).

T608 - Tourmaline $ 600
Chia Mine, Minas Gerais, Brazil
miniature - 3.7 x 1.3 x 1 cm

Tourmaline from Chia Mine, Minas Gerais, Brazil [db_pics/pics/t608a.jpg] Tourmaline from Chia Mine, Minas Gerais, Brazil [db_pics/pics/t608b.jpg] Tourmaline from Chia Mine, Minas Gerais, Brazil [db_pics/pics/t608c.jpg]

Multi-colored Tourmaline crystal with shades of red and green. It has the appearance of a larger crystal that has grown atop, and at a slightly different angle, to a smaller crystal, or it may be that the bottom of the larger crystal partially etched away and later recrystalized. In any case, it's a beautiful piece that is mostly double-terminated, and complete all around.

T611 - Rose Quartz on Quartz $ 500
Sapucaia, Minas Gerais, Brazil
small cabinet - 7 x 6 x 4.5 cm

Rose Quartz on Quartz from Sapucaia, Minas Gerais, Brazil [db_pics/pics/t611a.jpg] Rose Quartz on Quartz from Sapucaia, Minas Gerais, Brazil [db_pics/pics/t611b.jpg] Rose Quartz on Quartz from Sapucaia, Minas Gerais, Brazil [db_pics/pics/t611c.jpg]

A large single white Quartz crystals that has been coated by Rose Quartz crystals across the front faces and wrapping around the back. The Rose Quartz is in turn sprinkled with Eosphorite. A good sized, colorful specimen and undamaged.

T614 - Chrome Tremolite $ 300
Merelani Hills, Arusha, Tanzania
thumbnail - 2.8 x 2.2 x 1.2 cm

Good sized, terminated Chrome Tremolite crystal with excellent color. This is a little larger than most, and has an excellent, multi-faced termination. It also has outstanding color, and appears to have some cutting quality gems zones inside too.

T619 - Tsavorite with Calcite on Graphite $ 2500
Merelani Hills, Arusha, Tanzania
miniature - 5 x 2.3 x 2 cm

An uncommon matrix Tsavorite specimen with large gemmy crystals associated with Calcite on Graphite. The two largest crystals are each about 1.7cm wide. The crystals are very gemmy, good sized, and on matrix. The white Calcite crystals provide nice color contrast too. There is significant gem value to the crystals, possibly more valuble than my asking price. The central crystal has a facet grade gem area that is 13 x 10 x 7mm. Large gem quality Tsavorites are hard to find, especially on matrix.

T621 - Oil in Quartz $ 400
Zhob, Balochistan, Pakistan
miniature - 3.5 x 2.8 x 2.3 cm

Double terminated Quartz crystals in a cluster with inclusions of black carbon and yellow oil. These have been found for a few years now, but usually as single crystals in the 0.5 to 1.5cm size range. This specimen is unusual in that it has large individual crystals (to 2.6cm) and is in a floater cluster with no points of attachment, and it's undamaged.

T622 - Oil in Quartz $ 350
Zhob, Balochistan, Pakistan
miniature - 4.1 x 2.2 x 2 cm

Double terminated Quartz crystals in a cluster with inclusions of black carbon and yellow oil. These have been found for a few years now, but usually as single crystals in the 0.5 to 1.5cm size range. This specimen is unusual in that it has large individual crystals (to 2.8cm) and is in a cluster. The largest crystal is contacted on the backside, otherwise undamaged.

Terminated single Tourmaline crystal with a pink red color and a very thin green cap. This is an old piece in relatively good condition with just a bit of chipping on the back termination edge. It's nicely translucent with an etched base and weighs 51.8 grams. This was recently released from a collection.

T625 - Hematite after Ilmenite with Rutile $ 200
Mwinilunga District, North-Western Province, Zambia

Large Hematite crystals that have psuedomorphed Ilmenite crystals, with large epitaxial Rutile crystals. There is edge damage to the Hematite. A good sized example from this locality.

Branching groups of Copper crystals with a good patina. At first glance this appears like it could be a common hackly mass of Copper, however examination quickly reveals the sharply formed crystals.

T636 - Zircon with Quartz $ 440
Mount MalosaZomba District, Malawi
miniature - 3.2 x 2.5 x 2.5 cm

Zircon with Quartz from Mount MalosaZomba District, Malawi [db_pics/pics/t636a.jpg] Zircon with Quartz from Mount MalosaZomba District, Malawi [db_pics/pics/t636b.jpg] Zircon with Quartz from Mount MalosaZomba District, Malawi [db_pics/pics/t636c.jpg]
