SV219 - Grossular $ 750 (=~ AUS$ 1144) Sierra de Cruces, Sierra Mojada Mun., Coahuila, Mexico small cabinet - 8 x 5.5 x 5 cm Classic and now hard to find specimen of 'raspberry' Grossular garnets in matrix. The dodecahedral crystals measure up to 1.7cm across. There are also tan Vesuvianite present and partial Grossular crystals that display the color zoning inside. These were first found in 1974 and initially sold as coming from Lake Jaco, but the garnets are actually found in the Sierra de Cruces range located east of Lake Jaco in the State of Coahuila. ©2010-2018 Marin Mineral |
