A196 - Cinnabar on Dolomite $ 1200 (=~ CAN$ 1647) Yanwuping Mines, Guizhou, China small cabinet - 9 x 8 x 4 cm Classic Cinnabar penetration twin rising up 1.7cm and 1.5 cm wide on Dolomite. Fine quality Cinnabar that glows red when backlit. Fine undamaged piece, Chinese Cinnabar is by far the world's best, get a good one while supplies are still plentiful. Although there is plenty of lower quality material available now, the better ones are few and far between, size 9 x 8 x 4 cm.
J16 - Jeremejevite $ 1600 (=~ CAN$ 2196) Ameib Ranch, Arandis, Erongo Region, Namibia miniature - 3.2 x 0.8 x 0.6 cm Etched floater Jeremejevite crystal with good blue color and plenty of gem zones. A thick crystal that has most of the original, flat prism faces still intact with more etching present at the ends. Good sized, high quality crystal that weighs 14 carats. No damage.
SA583 - Proustite $ 1200 (=~ CAN$ 1647) Dolores Mine, Chanarcillo, Chile thumbnail - 1.9 x 0.6 x 0.4 cm Single red crystal of 'Ruby Silver' from the most important mine for this species in the world. Bright and translucent red when backlit. A complete,terminated single crystal of one of the 'Holy Grail' species for mineral collectors rarely seen for sale.
AF326 - Jeremejevite $ 1800 (=~ CAN$ 2470) Ameib Ranch, Arandis, Erongo Region, Namibia thumbnail - 3.1 x 1.2 x 1.0 cm Large single crystal from a find in spring 2010. Large size for the species, with both good length and perhaps more significantly, exceptional thickness. The crystal is naturally etched however retains a good glassy luster and has lots of internal transparency.
AF721 - Prehnite on Tanzanite $ 3900 (=~ CAN$ 5352) Merelani Hills, Lelatema Mountains, Arusha Region, Tanzania thumbnail - 2.9 x 2 x 1 cm Killer Tanzanite thumbnail that's also a great association piece too. Fine, gemmy blue Tanzanite crystal with excellent luster and great transparency with attached large, single Prehnite crystals (analyzed) on the backside. Prehnite from Merelani is usually seen as rounded aggregates, yet on this specimen they occur as individual crystals to 7mm wide. In addition to the Prehnite, there are white crystals of an unidentified mineral also attached to the backside. A very nice Tanzanite, undamaged with TOP luster, good color and highly gemmy.
AF647 - Tanzanite $ 2000 (=~ CAN$ 2745) Merelani Hills, Lelatema Mtns., Arusha Region, Tanzania miniature - 3.6 x 1.7 x 0.9 cm Fine quality Tanzanite, undamaged with good luster. Trichroic with nice red color when viewed from the top.
NA215 - Silver $ 1600 (=~ CAN$ 2196) Kearsarge Mine, Houghton Co., Michigan thumbnail - 2.5 x 1.5 x 1.4 cm Dramatic cluster of angular Silver crystals, capped by a superb 1.2cm crystal. Tiny amounts of Copper are present on some of the crystal faces. Nothing but good, large crystals. Fine!
