E597 - Rhodochrosite and Sphalerite on Pyrite psuedo. Pyrrhotite $ 350 (=~ ¥ 51931) Trepca Mine, Stanterg, Kosovo small cabinet - 7.5 x 5 x 4 cm 4cm wide by 3.5cm tall crystal of Pyrrhotite that has been replaced by Pyrite, coated by pale pink spheres of Rhodochrosite.
NA964 - Rhodochrosite $ 300 (=~ ¥ 44513) Mont St. Hilaire, Quebec, Canada thumbnail - 2.2 x 2.2 x 0.4 cm Sharp, thin twinned Rhodocrosite crystal from Mont St. Hilaire in the distinctive form often found at this locality. A floater specimen well crystallized on all sides.
B878 - Rhodochrosite $ 350 (=~ ¥ 51931) Madem-Lakko Mine, Chalkidiki Prefecture, Macedonia Department, Greece small cabinet - 7.5 x 6 x 2.8 cm Colorful old specimen of pink Rhodochrosite on Quartz. The old label dates this specimen back to at least 1982.
T255 - Rhodochrosite $ 300 (=~ ¥ 44513) Mont St. Hilaire, Quebec, Canada miniature - 4.5 x 3 x 2.5 cm Cluster of thick rhombs of red Rhodochrosite. This is from a recent find and we are more accustomed to seeing small wafer-like, twin Rhodo crystals from here, rather than these large, thick crystals. Crystals reach 2.5cm wide. Undamaged with some etched areas, mostly on the backside.
T387 - Rhodochrosite $ 350 (=~ ¥ 51931) Mont St. Hilaire, Quebec, Canada thumbnail - 1.8 x 1 x 0.3 cm Twinned Rhodochrosite crystal, a floater with no points of attachment. The color is just outstanding. This was recently released from the Charlie Key collection and it is clear he saved some good ones. Previous twinned Mont St. Hilaire Rhodos I've seen have all been a darker brick red color and opaque. This one is bright red and translucent through most of the specimen. Undamaged. A small amount of minerals attached to one edge.
J48 - Rhodochrosite $ 260 (=~ ¥ 38578) Santa Eulalia, Chihuahua, Mexico small cabinet - 5.5 x 5.5 x 4.0 cm A gemmy 'ball' of small Rhodochrosite crystals rests in the center of dark gray matrix. Two other areas also show Rhodochrosite crystals, but the center group is the main point of attraction. When seen with the aid of magnification, you will find dozens of millimeter size clear cubic Fluorite crystals in the matrix areas that host the Rhodochrosite.
K965 - Rhodochrosite $ 2800 (=~ ¥ 415451) N'Chwanning Mine, Kuruman, South Africa miniature - 3.8 x 3 x 2 cm Crystals of translucent Rhodochroiste over a small bit of Manganite matrix. Undamaged.

FM310 - Rhodochrosite on Quartz $ 500 (=~ ¥ 74188) Cavnic, Maramures, Romania cabinet - 12.5 x 8.5 x 6.5 cm White Quartz crystals coated by pink Rhodochrosite. The Quartz form a nice variety of sizes and many of the larger crystals have smaller crystals growing out from the sides. Ex. Randy Parnagian collection.
FM382 - Rhodochrosite $ 1000 (=~ ¥ 148375) Sunnyside Mine, Silverton, Colorado, USA small cabinet - 7.5 x 5.5 x 5 cm A 2.5cm crystal of Rhodochrosite on matrix from the Sunnyside Mine. Some from this mine can be more opaque and pink - this one is translucent and red. Ex. Randy Parnagian collection.
FM380 - Rhodochrosite $ 2000 (=~ ¥ 296751) Colorado, USA miniature - 4 x 4 x 2.5 cm Single translucent red Rhodochrosite crystal from Colorado. Well crystallized all around with slight etching. Ex. Randy Parnagian collection. Randy bought this 25-30 years ago and does not have precise locality information.
FM454 - Rhodochrosite in Quartz $ 60 (=~ ¥ 8903) Santa Eulalia, Chihushua, Mexico thumbnail - 2.5 x 2.4 x 1.5 cm Cluster of glassy, transparent Quartz crystals with inclusions of pink Rhodochrosite.
FM780 - Rhodochrosite $ 250 (=~ ¥ 37094) Rothenberg Mine, Oberneisen, Aar-Einrich, Rhein-Lahn-Kreis, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany small cabinet - 8 x 6 x 5.5 cm Rhodochrosite on matrix from a classic old German locality. The Rhodochrosite occurs as both botryoidal groups and individual scalenohedral crystals. The Rhodochrosite is deep red with a more brown (iron rich?) layer on the surface. The locality is an ancient iron mine, abandoned in 1928, working iron and manganese mineralisations hosted by Devonian schists [MINDAT]. Ex. Bob Byers collection acquired from Wendel Minerals (comes with a Wendel label showing a price of $480). ©2010-2018 Marin Mineral |
