Terminated single gem crystal of Chrome Tourmaline which is a chromium and vanadium rich Dravite. Complete all around with deep emerald green coloration and gemmy!! This is one the best I've seen of this all green style from the 'Commander Mine' find in 2016. There is unfortunately part of the crystal missing from the lower back side as seen in the third photo. Regardless, it is a spectacular crystal that would command twice as much or more if perfect, the color and clarity is just that good, and it can be displayed without showing the missing area. Last photo is backlit. Weighs 17.2 grams.

Outstanding small thumbnail composed of two interconnected GEM Tsavorite crystal on Graphite. Flawless gem Tsavorite crystals are hard to come by because the cutting value is so high they are almost always cut as gemstones. This specimen has two glass-like, undamaged crystals, though one has a indentation where another Tsavorite was formerly located.

Large nodule of Variscite with one side brightly polished. This piece amazingly has 4 separate areas (at least) of Variscite surrounded by yellow Crandallite. These are rare to find now in this size and quality.

T607 - Dioptase in Quartz $ 1500
Kaokaveld, Namibia
miniature - 4.7 x 3.0 x 3 cm

Dioptase in Quartz from Kaokaveld, Namibia [db_pics/pics/t607a.jpg] Dioptase in Quartz from Kaokaveld, Namibia [db_pics/pics/t607b.jpg] Dioptase in Quartz from Kaokaveld, Namibia [db_pics/pics/t607c.jpg] Dioptase in Quartz from Kaokaveld, Namibia [db_pics/pics/t607d.jpg]

Rare specimen of Dioptase crystals included in Quartz. These are not often seen and it's the only one I've ever owned. There were a handful of specimens from the Congo with slightly bigger Quartz crystals and included Dioptase crystals that sold in the $25K-$35K range. In this specimen, the Dioptase crystals settled on an earlier generation of yellow colored Quartz (which I understand is caused by Sulfur).

T624 - Tourmaline $ 1500
Alto Ligonha, Mozambique

Tourmaline from Alto Ligonha, Mozambique [db_pics/pics/t624a.jpg] Tourmaline from Alto Ligonha, Mozambique [db_pics/pics/t624b.jpg] Tourmaline from Alto Ligonha, Mozambique [db_pics/pics/t624c.jpg]

Terminated single Tourmaline crystal with a pink red color and a very thin green cap. This is an old piece in relatively good condition with just a bit of chipping on the back termination edge. It's nicely translucent with an etched base and weighs 51.8 grams. This was recently released from a collection.

T641 - Tsavorite with Pyrite $ 1500

An extremely elongated Tsavorite crystal with attached Pyrite crystals. Fully crystallized all around and undamaged, even the bottom end has some crystal faces present. This is the longest elongated Tsavorite I have yet seen from recent production.

T656 - Rosasite after Malachite after Azurite (R) $ 2500
Tsumeb, Namibia
cabinet - 10 x 9 x 7 cm

Rosasite after Malachite after Azurite (R) from Tsumeb, Namibia [db_pics/pics/t656a.jpg] Rosasite after Malachite after Azurite (R) from Tsumeb, Namibia [db_pics/pics/t656b.jpg] Rosasite after Malachite after Azurite (R) from Tsumeb, Namibia [db_pics/pics/t656c.jpg] Rosasite after Malachite after Azurite (R) from Tsumeb, Namibia [db_pics/pics/t656d.jpg]

Rare large cluster of Rosasite after Malachite after Azurite crystals, the largest cluster I can recall ever seeing. Note that this has been repaired in a number of places. This came out of an old collection and the repairs have not been done to modern standards, so it could be greatly improved. There are five large crystals that comprise the group. Just a rare and spectacular piece.

T657 - Malachite on Chrysocolla after Malachite $ 1200
Katanga, Congo
cabinet - 10 x 8.5 x 4 cm

Malachite on Chrysocolla after Malachite from Katanga, Congo [db_pics/pics/t657a.jpg] Malachite on Chrysocolla after Malachite from Katanga, Congo [db_pics/pics/t657b.jpg] Malachite on Chrysocolla after Malachite from Katanga, Congo [db_pics/pics/t657c.jpg]

The Katanga region of the Democratic Republic of Congo is the Malachite capital of the world, yet most found is lapidary grade with only a small percentage (usually fibrous or stalactitc specimens) being of any interest to mineral collectors. With specimens like this, Katanga can also claim to be one of the best localities for perfectly crystallized Malachite too. This specimen features perfectly formed individual crystals to 1.3 cm on a colorful and contrasting matrix of sky blue Chrysocolla. Just fabulously sharp single crystals. The Chrysocolla has partially psuedomorphed an earlier generation of Malachite crystals.
