SV144 - Almandine $ 300 Garnet Ledge, Wrangell Island, Alaska, USA small cabinet - 8 x 7 x 3.5 cm Two Almandine garnet crystals in schist matrix from the well known Wrangell Island locality in Alaska. The crystals reach 2cm wide with purple/red coloration and translucency and are well exposed from the schist. A USA classic.
ST729 - Almandine Garnet Ledge, Wrangell Island, Alaska, USA small cabinet - 8 x 6 x 3.5 cm Specimen of Almandine garnet crystals in schist matrix from the well known Wrangell Island locality in Alaska. The crystals reach 1.5cm wide with purple/red coloration and translucency and are well exposed from the schist. This one is loaded with crystals - the collector must have been very happy to find this one with 5 good crystals in one small piece of schist. A USA classic.
SV219 - Grossular $ 750 Sierra de Cruces, Sierra Mojada Mun., Coahuila, Mexico small cabinet - 8 x 5.5 x 5 cm Classic and now hard to find specimen of 'raspberry' Grossular garnets in matrix. The dodecahedral crystals measure up to 1.7cm across. There are also tan Vesuvianite present and partial Grossular crystals that display the color zoning inside. These were first found in 1974 and initially sold as coming from Lake Jaco, but the garnets are actually found in the Sierra de Cruces range located east of Lake Jaco in the State of Coahuila.
SV305 - Tsavorite, Calcite, Diopside $ 200 Merelani Hills, Arusha, Tanzania thumbnail - 2.1 x 1.3 x 1.1 cm Elongated faden-like Tsavorite crystals on a matrix of Calcite crystals. This is an uncommon form of Tsavorite (Grossular) that are not often seen on matrix. There is a Diopside crystal and small Pyrite crystals in association. Great thumbnail from the Merelani Tanzanite mines.
SV318 - Almandine Green's Farm locality, Roxbury, Litchfield Co., Connecticut, USA small cabinet - 6 x 2.8 x 2.5 cm Old USA classic Almandine specimen with a complete purple-red dodecahedron 2.3cm wide. The Almandine sits perfectly for display in a gray/green schist matrix. A good-sized crystal for the locality which is now closed to collecting.
MK126 - Almandine Zillertal, Schwaz District, Tyrol, Austria small cabinet - 7.7 x 5.5 x 3 cm Classic Almandine specimen from Zillertal featuring two dark reddish-brown Almandine crystals in a schist matrix. The well-formed dodecahedral crystals reach 3.3cm in size.
MK128 - Almandine Seeber valley, Burggrafenamt, South Tyrol, Italy small cabinet - 7.5 x 5 x 4 cm Classic Italian Almandine specimen from Seeber valley featuring five dark reddish-brown Almandine crystals in a schist matrix. The well-formed dodecahedral crystals reach 4.7cm in size.
MK583 - Grossular $ 750 Jeffrey Mine, Asbestos, Quebec, Canada miniature - 4.2 x 3.5 x 0.9 cm Glassy and gemmy crystals of cinnamon colored Grossular from the Jeffrey Mine. The crystals are fully transparent and reach 1.3cm in size. Pristine.
K978 - Spessartine $ 400 Nani, Loliondo, Tanzania thumbnail - 2.4 x 1.8 x 1.1 cm Complete 'citrus' orange Spessartine crystal from old finds in Tanzania. These were mostly found as partial or damaged crystals with complete crystals such as this much less common. Excellent form with a few small surface pits but no damage. Translucent with great color, there are some darker black included areas but also areas of superb gem transparenct. Weighs 13.47 grams.
K896 - Spessartine Nani, Loliondo, Tanzania thumbnail - 2.4 x 1.8 x 1.1 cm Complete 'citrus' orange Spessartine crystal from old finds in Tanzania. These were mostly found as partial or damaged crystals with complete crystals such as this much less common. Excellent form with a few small edge chips and surface pits but no significant damage. Translucent with great color, there are some darker black included areas but also areas of superb gem transparenct. Weighs 37.30 grams.

LP351 - Tsavorite, Diopside on Titanite $ 450 Merelani Hills, Arusha, Tanzania miniature - 3.5 x 3 x 2 cm This is a really neat and aesthetic combination specimen from the Merelani Tanzanite mines. A large, chocolate brown twinned Titanite with attached green Tsavorite and white Diopside crystals on one side. Titanite crystals are fairly uncommon at Merelani.
LP443 - Spessartine on Feldspar $ 2500 Skardu, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan small cabinet - 7.5 x 3.5 x 3 cm A large deep wine-red Spessartine crystal on white feldspar with other smaller Spessartine crystals and black crystals of what is possibly Tantalite. The main crytals is 4.5cm in size and very complex, featuring typical flat crystals faces, etched faces, and a hollow area on the left side with a mound-shaped crystal mass in the center. The main crystal is fully crystallized all around and nearly pristine. Ex. Len Pisciotta collection and one of my favorite pieces in the collection.
