Complete 'citrus' orange Spessartine crystal from old finds in Tanzania. These were mostly found as partial or damaged crystals with perfect complete crystals such as this much less common. Equant form with very minimal edge wear, otherwise no damage. There are a few small areas of black Braunite inclusions, otherwise it's nothing but gemmy orange. These were often cut up into spectacular gemstones, and this one could cut a number of small gems.

Large single Tsavorite crystal with attached Graphite and a 1.2cm intergrown, terminated Tanzanite crystal on the left side. It's glassy and gemmy with great color. It's undamaged with a valley in the fron face where Graphite interferred with the growth. There are also included crystals of graphite inside the Tsavorite. Unusual combination and impressive for the Tsavorite alone.

Large single Tsavorite crystal with good color. Nearly a floater with a couple indentations, contacts with lustrous glassy faces. It's not perfect, but for the size and color it's a good value.

M703 - Tsavorite with Diopside $ 300 (=~ € 274)

Large single Tsavorite crystal with good color. The main crystal is 2.5cm wide and displays great from the front with small Diopside crystals below. The backside (3rd photo) shows a dimpled surface from growth against Graphite crystals.

M921 - Spessartine, Apatite $ 625 (=~ € 571)

Red Spessartine either grown over or replacing a pink Apatite crystal. The garnets come together around the Apatite and retain the general form of the Apatite, with natural gaps between the garnets evidenced by etched faces in the walls of the gaps. These are certainly unusual and uncommon specimens, and I've only had 2 before. A flaoter fully crystallized all around, with attached mica.

Complete single Spessartine crystal with great orange color. These are no longer being found or at least very seldomly found anymore. A great example with good color and transparent gem zones. Very trivial edge wear, essentially undamaged.

Complete single Spessartine crystal with great orange color. These are no longer being found or at least very seldomly found anymore. A great example with good color. There is an area of black inclusions, but the large amount of transparent gem zones in the rest of the crystal more than makes of for it. Minor edge wear and a contact where it grew against another crystal, but complete and in overall good condition.

There is an area of black inclusions, but the large amount of transparent gem zones in the rest of the crystal more than makes of for it. Minor edge wear and a bit of dammage to one face, but complete and in overall good condition.

Crystals of Tsavorite and Diopside on Graphite. The crystals formed in a vug on massive Graphite with crystals of Graphite present lining the vug. The main Tsavorite is about 7mm and highly gemmy. Tsavorite is a chrome and vanadium rich variety of Grossular from East Africa and is one of the most valuable types of garnet found anywhere. This specimen was found at the Merelani Tanzanite mines and a fine example of some of minerals found at this locality.

Large 1.8cm Almandine crystal on pink Rhyolite. An especially good example for this occurrence, probably the best I've seen. Undamaged.

Large single Grossular crystal with textbook form and good size for the locality (once known as 'Lake Jaco'). It's complete all around (with a contact indentation on the bottom where it was attached to another crystal) with good luster and is translucent with small gemmy areas. These classic large Grossulars were found in the 1960s.
