M388 - Copper with Calcite, Cerussite $ 150 Tsumeb, Namibia miniature - 4 x 3.5 x 3.5 cm Black rock matrix (with included crystals of an unidentified species) with white Rhombic Calcite crystals (old Fraziers label inidcates the Calcite is fluorescent). Copper runs throughout the specimen, and is exposed in the central vug area, along with a small cluster of transparent Cerussite crystals.
M389 - Copper $ 240 Mufulria Mine, Mufulria, Zambia small cabinet - 5.7 x 3.5 x 1.5 cm Thick and sturdy specimen of Copper crystals. There are areas of trnaslucent white Calcite attached and bright, untarnished Copper is visible beneath.
M379 - Dravite $ 1200 Mwajanga, near Komolo, Tanzania cabinet - 10.5 x 3 x 2 cm Large, doubly-terminated blue-cap Dravite from a unique 2017 find. This one has so many things going for it, most importantly it's large size and good condition with only one bit of chipping along the termination. It features a dark body grading up to a translucent white zone followed by an intensly blue termination. While the dark zone in the majority of the crystals were opaque, this one is translucent, even despite it's larger size (I put a pen light behind it in one photo to show the translucency). The other end is terminated with a more pyramidal shape and has green overgrowths. There is another small Dravite intergrown in this end.
M406 - Cerussite on Copper Tsumeb, Namibia small cabinet - 8 x 6 x 4.5 cm Large mass of Copper crystals with attached Cerussite crystals. The Cerussite crystals show etching. Good dark patina.
M602 - Quartz scepter (with bubble) $ 275 Southern Zambia Province, Zambia small cabinet - 6 x 2.8 x 2 cm Quartz scepter from recent finds in Zambia. The scepter head has both Amethyst and smokey coloration and also contains a 3-4mm bubble that travels over 1.2cm inside. Undamaged with a rehealed base.
M421 - Copper with ? $ 240 Tsumeb, Namibia miniature - 4 x 3 x 1.5 cm Branching, arborescent cluster of Copper crystals from Tsumeb. One side of the cluster is coated by tiny acicular 'fuzzy' brown/black crystals of an unknown species.
M625 - Tanzanite with Diopside Merelani Hills, Arusha, Tanzania miniature - 3.8 x 3 x 2.5 cm Uncommon and interesting Merelani specimen consisting of a 2.5cm terminated Tanzanite side-by-side with a 3cm Diopside, however the terminations are pointing in opposite directions. Never seen one like this before.
M626 - Tanzanite with Diopside $ 1500 Merelani Hills, Arusha, Tanzania thumbnail - 3 x 2.7 x 2.1 cm Uncommon, aesthetic Merelani specimen consisting of two terminated Tanzanite crystals associated with Diopside. Stands upright on it's own and is complete all around. There is a small chip on the backside of the larger 3cm crystal, otherwise perfect and undamaged all around. Unheated and natural. Really stands out from the more commonly seen single crystals.
M352 - Tsavorite $ 300 Merelani Hills, Arusha, Tanzania thumbnail - 3 x 2 x 1.9 cm Large single Tsavorite crystal with attached Graphite. Though not highly gemmy, it's undamaged (some areas etched and rehealed) with impressive size and great color.
M353 - Tanzanite on Tsavorite $ 450 Merelani Hills, Arusha, Tanzania thumbnail - 3 x 2 x 1.6 cm Large single Tsavorite crystal with attached Graphite and a 1.2cm intergrown, terminated Tanzanite crystal on the left side. It's glassy and gemmy with great color. It's undamaged with a valley in the fron face where Graphite interferred with the growth. There are also included crystals of graphite inside the Tsavorite. Unusual combination and impressive for the Tsavorite alone.
M603 - Quartz scepter $ 150 Southern Zambia Province, Zambia small cabinet - 7 x 1.8 x 1.5 cm Quartz scepter from recent finds in Zambia. The scepter head has both Amethyst and smokey coloration. Undamaged and double-terminated.
M702 - Tsavorite $ 350 Merelani Hills, Arusha, Tanzania thumbnail - 1.9 x 1.7 x 1.6 cm Large single Tsavorite crystal with good color. Nearly a floater with a couple indentations, contacts with lustrous glassy faces. It's not perfect, but for the size and color it's a good value.
M703 - Tsavorite with Diopside $ 300 Merelani Hills, Arusha, Tanzania thumbnail - 2 x 2 x 1.4 cm Large single Tsavorite crystal with good color. The main crystal is 2.5cm wide and displays great from the front with small Diopside crystals below. The backside (3rd photo) shows a dimpled surface from growth against Graphite crystals.
K878 - Tsavorite $ 350 Merelani Hills, Arusha, Tanzania thumbnail - 1.7 x 1.7 x 0.9 cm Large single crystal, glassy and transparent.
M852 - Tremolite $ 75 Merelani Hills, Arusha, Tanzania thumbnail - 1.4 x 1.1 x 0.5 cm Terminated single Tremolite crystal with bright, vivid green coloration. Translucent to transparent, complete all around, with a flat, glassy termination. Most are mere shards or fragments and complete terminated crystals such as this are are much less common. Like a number of other mineral species from Merelani, these Tremolites are considered the world's best of species.
