26 specimens from new find of yellow Prehnite at Merelani Hills, Tanzania. A find of similar yellow Prehnite was made in 2006 and were sold at the 2007 Tucson show. I have not seen any new crystals since then, until now. These occur as wonderfully translucent clusters of crystals, many in spherical clusters and many with other associated minerals. I have backlit some of the photos to highlight their great translucency. Please note that due to their yellow color and translucency, tiny bits of Graphite stand out in the photos much more so than when you see the Prehnites in person.

Spherical cluster of glassy yellow Prehnite on a small amount of Graphite matrix. Large, gemmy crystals radiating out in all directions. The cluster is complete all around and translucent throughout, one of the best pieces from this find.

Big, gemmy yellow Prehnite crystals with a 6mm, long thin blue Apatite crystal intergrown on one side.

Spherical cluster of glassy yellow Prehnite on a small amount of Graphite matrix. A translucent, glowing sphere of big crystals, complete all around and translucent throughout, one of the best pieces from this find. This one is priced down due to a small area on top where some Graphite intergrew with the Prehnite, still a beauty in my book.

Floater cluster of lemon yellow Prehnite intergrown with a white fibrous mineral, possibly Zoisite. The cluster is complete all around and undamaged, an excellent piece. Very similar to specimen AF277.

Big spherical cluster on Graphite matrix. The cluster is complete all around, though with an area of attached Graphite on backside, and translucent throughout. With sharp individual crystals that stick out from the main cluster. Robust and colorful piece.

Small but very fine Prehnite cluster, nearly a floater on just the tiniest bit of Graphite matrix. The Prehnite is so clear you could cut a faceted gem from the middle of the main crystal.

Hemispherical cluster of glassy yellow Prehnite that appears dark due to an abundance of Graphite on bottom and backside. Gemmy green Diopside crystals are attached, good association.
AF278 - Prehnite with Tanzanite $ 130 SOLD Merelani Hills, Lelatema Mtns., Arusha Region, Tanzania thumbnail - 3.7 x 2 x 1.5 cm 
Colorful combo of blue Tanzanite with the lemon yellow Prehnite with a small amount of Graphite on back. While many of these specimens have shards of Tanzanite, this is the only one with a big partial crystal in a good display location. Good sparkling crystals all over, including the backside.
