A179 - Tantalite $ 300 SOLD Shengus Mine, Skardu District, Pakistan small cabinet - 6 x 3 x 2
Lustrous black Tantalite crystals sitting upright in a jumbled row across Albite crystals. A very aesthetic specimen in hand, much more than the photos indicate.
A176 - Fluorite, Schorl with Quartz $ 400 SOLD Shengus Mine,Skardu Dist., Pakistan small cabinet - 8 x 7.5 x 4
A 6cm Schorl crystal on smokey quartz with Albite hosting a very unusual Fluorite crystal. The purple Fluorite is 1.1 cm across and apears to be a modified octahedral crystal (there are a few small octahedons on other areas of the specimen). The Fluorite forms almost a perfect, complete sphere shape. I am told this formation is known as "Ox eye" Fluorite, though I have never seen anything like it before.
A177 - Sphene $ 900 Zagi Mine, Mulla Ghori, Kyber Agency, Pakistan small cabinet - 7.5 x 4.3 x 1.1
Large and gemmy brownish green crystal, the largest and best of just a handfull of these I saw available, an impressive crystal. Flat with a deep V groove across the top formed by the twinning. In good condition with only a couple shallow dings on backside.
A175 - Pollucite $ 400 SOLD Shengus Mine, Skardu Dist., Pakistan small cabinet - 9 x 3 x 2
Pollucite is normally seen as roundish white crystals that resemble baseballs - this is the only prismatic crystal I've ever seen. It's a floater with good smooth faces on all sides. There are small brown spheres of an unidentified mineral on one side. Neat and unusual.
A180 - Kunzite $ 90 Kunar Prov., Afghanistan miniature - 3.9 x 1.8 x 0.6
Gemmy pink Kunzite crystal with smooth, flat termination faces.
A182 - Beryllonite with Lepidolite, Tourmaline $ 800 SOLD Paprok, Nuristan, Afghanistan small cabinet - 8.7 x 5.5 x 3.5
Large white Beryllonite crystal attractively set in Lepidolite crystals with small green Tourmaline.
A184 - Tourmaline on Morganite $ 450 SOLD Paprok, Nuristan, Afghanistan small cabinet - 6 x 3 x 3
A unusual feature of pegmatites is the occasional occurrence of "bent" crystals, believed to be caused by repeated fracturing and rehealing within the pegmatite. This specimen features a "bent" Tourmaline draped over the shoulder on a gem Morganite crystal. The Tourmaline grades from dark green to pink at the termination. The Morganite is crystallized on all sides, truely unique.
A178 - Tourmaline on Quartz $ 150 Stak Nala, Skardu District, Pakistan miniature - 3.4 x 2.5 x 2
Terminated21.cm Tourmaline crystal, dark with a medium green termination, set in a double terminated clear quartz crystal.
A183 - Indicolite $ 250 SOLD Kunar Prov., Afghanistan thumbnail - 2 x 0.9 x 0.9
Gemmy single crystal with great blue color, matte surface luster on the termination. Undamaged.
H1 - Hambergite $ 1500 SOLD Dassu, Skardu Dist., Pakistan miniature - 3.5 x 2.5 x 1.5 cm
Glassy well formed Hambergite crystal of top quality atop Albite. The small partial crystal on top the main crystal rehealed (and was covered in pocket clay when I purchased it). This is fine, sharply formed crystal with transparency, which is exceptional as the vast majority of Hambergites are usually opaque and/or crudely formed, 3.5 x 2.5 x 1.5 cm.
A274 - Herderite $ 1500 Dassu, Skardu Dist., Pakistan miniature - 4 x 3 x 2.5 cm
Glassy 2.7cm lime green Herderite crystal atop Albite. These are very hard to find and I have not seen new material of this color in years, 4 x 3 x 2.5 cm.
A275 - Herderite on Topaz $ 700 Dassu, Skardu Dist., Pakistan thumbnail - 2 x 1.9 x 1.9 cm
Green Herderite crystals to 1.6cm on a gem Topaz crystal, 2 x 1.9 x 1.9 cm.
A276 - Clinozoisite $ 300 Tormiq, Skardu Dist., Pakistan thumbnail - 2.7 x 2.5 x 1 cm
Complete, glassy and gemmy single crystal, complete all around, 2.7 x 2.5 x 1 cm.
A277 - Clinozoisite $ 300 SOLD Tormiq, Skardu Dist., Pakistan miniature - 4 x 1.9 x 1 cm
Complete, glassy and gemmy crystal. This is an intergrown pair with a grove in the termination separating the duel terminations, 4 x 1.9 x 1 cm.
A278 - Beryllonite $ 280 SOLD Shengus Mine, Skardu Dist., Pakistan thumbnail - 3 x 3 x 2 cm
Gemmy single crystal. Beryllonite was previously very rare until good crystals started coming out of Brazil recently associated with Brazilianite. Then big crystals started to appear from the pegmatites of Pakistan, however while large, most are opaque white crystals. This one is unusually gemmy and is facet quality in areas, 3 x 3 x 2 cm.
