Ex. Chuck Trantham collection. From MINDAT: Named for William H. Nisson (1912–1965), amateur mineralogist, mineral collector and dealer, of Petaluma, California, USA, who first noted the mineral.
CT548 - Liebigite $ 60 (=~ £ 48) SOLD Schwartzwalder Mine, Ralston Buttes Mining District, Jefferson Co., Colorado, USA thumbnail - 1.5 x 1 x 1 cm Yellow crystals of Liebigite, a rare uranium mineral, lining a vug in matrix. According to MINDAT, the Schwartzwalder uranium deposit, in the Front Range west of Denver, Colorado, is the largest vein-type uranium deposit in the United States. Named in honor of Justus Freiherr von Liebig, a chemist who is considered one of the principal founders of analytical and organic chemistry.
