Alchuri Vesuvianite

Lustrous "root beer" colored Vesuvianite crystals from a recent find at Alchuri. The crystals appear bi-colored because the upper prtions of the crystals turn fibrous. Though internally fibrous, they retain smooth surface luster and smooth, flat terminations. Largest crystal 1cm tall. With Calcite and green Clinochlore crystals, size 6 x 3.5 x 2.5 cm.

Specimen completely covered by lustrous "root beer" colored Vesuvianite crystals from a recent find at Alchuri. The crystals are double terminated with the tips of each crystal a lighter color due to a change of the crystal growth to being fibrous. Though internally fibrous, they retain smooth surface luster and smooth, flat terminations. A 1.2cm Clinochlore crystal with other smaller green Clinochlore crystals present, size 3.5 x 2.2 x 1.7 cm.

Lustrous "root beer" colored Vesuvianite crystals from a recent find at Alchuri. Largest crystal 1.6 cm wide. Damage to some of the lower front crystals where detached from matrix, size 2.9 x 2.5 x 1.5 cm.
