New specimens of translucent orange Kyanite from Tanzania. These occur in the same deposit that new orange Spessartines have been coming from. While previous Kyanites from this locality have been typically thin, slender crystals, the specimens below are fat, intersecting crystals with the same unique color and good translucency (note that many photos are backlit to highlight the translucency). While the edges appear ragged and irregular, they are not damaged - this is just how they grew and many of the ends have bits of attached Mica or Quartz.
