Chrome Tourmaline from Tanzania [db_pics/pics/g24a.jpg] Chrome Tourmaline from Tanzania [db_pics/pics/g24b.jpg]

Deep green cushion cut gemstone. Incredibly rich color, well cut and well proportioned. This would make an excellent ringstone or perfect for a rough-and-cut pairing. "Chrome Tourmaline" is actually a vanadium rich Uvite/Dravite. This has nearly the same color as Tsavorite, but costs a fraction of what a comparably colored Tsavorite would cost. The color is much better in person - the photos turned out drab, dark green while in person it is much brighter and a little lighter (it's the upper right stone in the group photo on first page). 2.50 carats, $500 per carat.
