C177 - Feldspar var. Moonstone Namalulu, Tanzania small cabinet - 7.5 x 5 x 3.5 cm New find of crystallized moonstone from Tanzania. This is essentially one large individual crystals of 5.5cm with a satiny blue color on the front face. Uncommonly large crystal. Moonstone crystals are rare!
C259 - Galena with Quartz, Sphalerite 9th of September Mine, Madan, Bulgaria small cabinet - 8 x 4.5 x 4 cm New find of skeletal Galena fromt eh 9th of September Mine. This is true skeletal Galena (not the manufactured specimens from about 10 years ago), only the second time in 20 years that they have been found. With Quartz crystals and Sphalerite. Undamaged.
C284 - Cinnabar in Calcite Terlingua, Brewster Co., Texas, USA thumbnail - 2.8 x 1.8 x 1.5 cm Single yellow scalenohedral Calcite crystal with a sharp phantom of Cinnabar. This is a rare specimen from the old mercury mining district of Terlingua, located near the Mexican border. Cinnabar was discovered here in the 1880s, creating a temporary mining town, now nothing remains but a ghost town.
C446 - Brochantite Morocco small cabinet - 8.5 x 6 x 3 cm ex. Bruce Murphy Old specimen from the Bruce Murphy collection composed of nothing but Brochantite crystals. This was a rare specimen when Bruce acquired it, and I've not seen much Brochantite specimens from Morocco since. Bright emerald green crystals everywhere. This is likely from the Bou Bekker Mine.
C557 - Spinel Big Maria mountains, Riverside County, California, USA cabinet - 13 x 10 x 8 cm Large 3cm black Spinel crystal on matrix with other smaller Spinel crystals. This is an old specimen from a collection from the 1960s and 70s. It occurs with Chlorite and appears to have been partially etched from carbonate rock. It rates as a significant California Spinel. Undamaged.
SM153 - Chrome Tourmaline Landani, Tanzania thumbnail - 2.5 x 2.4 x 2.4 cm Complete single 'Chrome Tourmaline', which is vanadium and chromium rich Dravite found in east Africa. Fine undamaged crystal with deep green color. Comes with a former dealer label showing an old price of $750.
SM273 - Azurite Milpillas Mine, Cuitaca, Sonora, Mexico thumbnail - 2 x 2 x 1.5 cm Translucent, tabular Azurite crystals from the Volborthite zone. The crystals are complete and undamaged. Milpillas is already considered the best Azurite locality in the world. While crystals are currently abundant, now is the time to get a good one before supplies dry up.
C617 - Sphalerite Eagle Mine, Gilman Co., Colorado, USA miniature - 5 x 4.5 x 3.5 cm Irridescent purple blue Sphalerite crystals on Quartz, the color reminiscent of Covellite. Beautiful specimen out of an old collection.
SM499 - Tanzanite Merelani Hills, Arusha, Tanzania miniature - 3.7 x 2.3 x 1 cm Large, gemmy single Tanzanite crystal, complete and well terminated. A large and impressive gem crystal with strong color. It's complete all around with glassy luster and only a small indentation from another crystal on the backside. This is a heated crystal and priced to move, would otherwise cost about $3,000-$4,000.
SM606 - Sphalerite with Quartz Pacococha, Huancavalica, Peru cabinet - 12.0 x 9.2 x 4.7 cm Large, dark color Sphalerite crystals dominate the top of this specimen with the largest individual one measuring 3.5cm on edge. The matrix is entirely Sphalerite with the terminated top crystals showing small white druzy Quartz crystals providing a nice contrast. Weight is 1lb, 10oz. Ex. The Rocksmiths Minerals with their old label that is over 20 years old. A very clean specimen with only minor contact or chipping to the main crystals.
SM852 - Prehnite with Pyrite Merelani Hills, Arusha, Tanzania miniature - 4.8 x 3 x 2 cm Yellow Prehnite crystals with a much different, somewhat globular style than most from Merelani. It has a flat base where it was attached to Graphite. There are small Pyrite crystals along the base, apparently that grew on the Graphite first before the Prehnite.
AR13 - Millerite Hall's Gap, Lincoln Co., Kentucky, USA miniature - 4 x 2.5 x 1.5 cm Half geode filled with golden metallic, hair-like Millerite crystals. Undamaged, classic USA material from a now closed locality. Ex. Art Reno collection.
J50 - Silver with Acanthite Uchucchacua Mine, Peru miniature - 3.7 x 3.2 x 3.0 cm Silver wires and patches of native Silver with areas of Acanthite rising from a black sulfide rich matrix. Estimated length of the longest Silver wire is about 2cm. There are a number of good wires present. These are no longer being found.
J102 - Amethyst Jackson's Crossroads, Wilkes Co., Georgia, USA small cabinet - 6.5 x 5.8 x 4.5 cm Large glassy single Amethyst crystal from 2018 finds. Good purple color some smaller attached white Quartz crystals. Undamaged.
J178 - Amethyst Jackson's Crossroads, Wilkes Co., Georgia, USA small cabinet - 6.5 x 6 x 5 cm Cluster of glassy Amethyst crystals from 2018 finds. Good medium purple colored Amethyst crystals that grew upon the tips of smaller white Quartz crystals, so it is crystallized on all sides with just a few of the tips of the small white crystals embedded inthe bottom. Fine and undamaged.
