To place a bid, simply e-mail me with the specimen you are biding on, a bidding name you want to be identified by, and your bid amount. I will of course not always be able to post the bids immediately but will have them up within 24 hours at most. Please consider each specimen and your bid carefully as your bid is a commitment to purchase the mineral(s). The auction will starts now and will close at 8:30 p.m. pacific standard time on Tuesday July 7th. If multiple bids on a particular specimen come in near the close time, the auction will close 10 minutes following the last received bid after the close time. Bids are in United States dollars. Minimum bid increments are $5 for bids under $100 and $10 for bids over $100. Have fun!


NA179 - Adamite

Mina Oujela, Mapimi, Durango, Mexico

 

   

Large cluster of yellow/green Adamite. Thick coverage (6cm of solid Adamite!) from older finds. Mapimi Adamite is typically a yellow color with the green varities being more rare - this one has a more green in color than is typical, 6 x 3 x 2 cm.

Undamaged 2.7cm purple Herderite crystal complete all around set nicely upon Albite. These purple Herderites from the Xanda Mine are world famous and hard to find now, this one mined in the 1970s, size 3 x 2.7 x 2.7 cm.

Gem Emerald rising out of another Emerald crystal "matrix". The terminated crystal is transparent and 8mm thick. The larger Emerald is partially terminated on the long end. Unusual and much better in person. Starting bid is just below my cost. Size 2.2 x 1.6 x 1.6 cm.

Numerous glassy blue 3mm crystals across surface with pyrite crystals. Lots of vugs loaded with good crystals, way more crystals than photos may indicate. These have the good blue color and transparency unlike many from the find which are almost black. This is a good cabinet sized Scorodite valued at $400-$500, size 8.5 x 7.5 x 6 cm.

Large, terminated Babingtonite crystal on matrix with Gyrolite. The Indian Zeolites issue of the Mineralogical Record indicates that Indian Babingtonites occur from 3 to 15 mm in size; the crystal on this specimen is 12mm tall, so this one is among the largest of the find, 3.5 x 3 x 2.5 cm.

Etched yellow Heliodor from a recent find in Vietnam that glows like a piece of yellow ice. Thick crystal section with etched outer surfaces. Completely gemmy inside with good color. These have been tested by two labs and confirmed as natural yellow beryl. Size 3.4 x 3.3 x 2.6 cm.
